Widows Mite 6.0
A Weekend of Healing, Hope, and Lasting Impact

The Kedrick Scribner Foundation invites you to experience Widows Mite 6.0 — a powerful, two-day humanitarian experience dedicated to changing lives, restoring dignity, and empowering the most vulnerable among us. This is more than an event. It is a movement of healing and transformation, of grace in action, and of love made visible.
Happening on Saturday, June 28, and Sunday, June 29, 2025, Widows Mite 6.0 builds on a tradition of service, compassion, and sustainable impact that reaches widows, orphans, underserved youth, and vulnerable families across communities. It is a weekend where hope is rekindled, where futures are rebuilt, and where people are reminded that they are seen, they are valued, and they are not alone.
DAY 1 – SATURDAY, JUNE 28, 2025
A Day for Healing, Access, and Empowerment
Free Medical Outreach (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
From the break of dawn, the grounds come alive with compassion. A full team of doctors, nurses, a mobile lab, and a pharmacy will be on site, ready to serve hundreds in need of essential care. For many, this is their only opportunity all year to see a doctor, to get a diagnosis, to find relief from untreated pain, or to finally receive medications they could not afford.
It’s not just about medicine—it’s about restoring dignity. It’s about listening, treating, and letting every individual know: your health matters, your life matters.
Health Insurance for 1,000 Lives (Begins at 11:00 AM)
Beginning at 11:00 AM, we will renew health insurance coverage for 700 beneficiaries and enroll an additional 300 new individuals. That’s 1,000 people—1,000 lives—that will now have the security of healthcare year-round.
This isn’t a handout—it’s a shield. It’s a mother who can now take her child to the hospital without fear of cost. It’s a widow who won’t have to choose between medication and a meal. It’s peace of mind. It’s freedom.
Short Health Seminar
Alongside the outreach, participants will also attend a brief health seminar, offering education on prevention, nutrition, hygiene, and managing common conditions. This session reinforces the belief that healthcare isn’t just reactive—it’s proactive, and knowledge is the first step toward sustained well-being.
Keynote Speaker Seminar – Wisdom for the Next Level
Later in the day, we will host a powerful seminar featuring a remarkable keynote speaker:
Elder Shawn Green, from the Church of the Redeemed of the Lord in Baltimore, Maryland
Vocational Graduation – A Celebration of Resilience and Rebirth
The day will reach an emotional high with the graduation ceremony for students who have completed their training in:
Tailoring and Fashion Design
Beadmaking and Accessories
Computer Literacy and Digital Skills
These graduates have worked tirelessly to learn, to grow, and to reclaim their futures. They have invested their time and energy into developing real, marketable skills—and now they are ready to walk into the world as entrepreneurs, creators, professionals, and leaders.
As part of our commitment to post-training support, top-performing graduates will receive practical startup kits—sewing machines, laptops, or beadmaking kits—to help launch their businesses immediately. Because at the Kedrick Scribner Foundation, we don’t just train—we walk with our students into their next chapter.
DAY 2 – SUNDAY, JUNE 29, 2025
A Day of Gratitude, Vision, and Youthful Promise
Thanksgiving Service – A Moment of Worship and Testimony
The second day of Widows Mite 6.0 begins with a joyful thanksgiving service—a moment to reflect, rejoice, and give thanks to God for the lives touched and the miracles unfolding. Voices will rise in song, testimonies will stir hearts, and the atmosphere will be charged with gratitude.
This service reminds us that every healed body, every trained hand, every empowered youth, is a testimony to what happens when love and action come together.
With messages centered on vision, purpose, resilience, and community impact, this seminar will inspire attendees to not only overcome their present challenges but to become beacons of hope and influence in their own communities. These voices of wisdom and strength will leave a lasting imprint on all who listen.
Professional Photography Class for Youths by Dr. Patricia McDougall – Empowering the Creative Economy
As part of our focus on youth development, the day will also feature a professional photography training session for aspiring young creatives by a seasoned professional. This hands-on class will teach:
The basics of camera use and composition
Lighting, framing, and storytelling through imagery
Photo editing and digital tools
How to earn a living through photography
This initiative is more than skill training—it’s a chance to dream bigger. To tell stories. To build a brand. To see beauty and capture it for the world to witness. It’s a step toward creative entrepreneurship and financial independence for our youth.
One Mission, Two Cities: Lagos and Baltimore United in Impact
Widows Mite 6.0 reflects the broader mission of the Kedrick Scribner Foundation across two powerful centers of outreach:
In Lagos, Nigeria, our Vocational Training Center delivers intensive, in-person programs in tailoring, beadmaking, and computer skills. Hundreds have already passed through these programs, and many are now business owners, mentors, and community changemakers.
In Baltimore, Maryland, our efforts are focused on direct outreach, including:
Free back-to-school haircuts for children
Food and supplies for homeless shelters
Community service and seasonal outreach for underserved families
While the programs are different, the heart is the same: compassion, dignity, and empowerment. Baltimore’s center will soon expand to include vocational training and digital learning as well, making it a full-force hub of transformation in the United States.
Why We Do It
We do it because every life is sacred.
Because poverty should not define destiny.
Because the widow, the orphan, the hungry child, and the struggling youth all deserve to know: you are not invisible.
We do it for healing. For hope. For futures restored.
Widows Mite 6.0 is a manifestation of faith, generosity, and relentless love in action. It is an invitation to see people differently—and to serve them deeply.
We invite partners, donors, volunteers, and friends to be part of this movement. Stand with us. Build with us. Let’s create a world where every person has the chance to rise.
