We are dedicated to uplifting the widows and orphans of the fallen heroes of the Nigeria Police Force, ensuring they receive the support they need to rebuild their lives. As we prepare for Widow’s Mite 5.0 in January 2025, we are reminded of the profound impact this outreach has had on countless lives and the incredible work that still lies ahead. This event is not just an outreach; it is a powerful expression of our commitment to serving those who need us most.

Event Date: January 18th and 19th, 2025
Location: Lagos Marriott Hotel, Ikeja
Time: 10:00am

Our Mission: Serving Widows and Orphans with Love and Dedication
The Widow’s Mite initiative is a cornerstone of the Kedrick Scribner Foundation’s mission to provide holistic support to the most vulnerable members of our community. Since the inception of this initiative, we have reached out to the widows and orphans of police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. These brave men and women gave their lives to protect ours, and it is our sacred duty to ensure that their families are not forgotten.

Through Widow’s Mite 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0, we have provided essential resources to hundreds of widows and orphans, addressing both their immediate and long-term needs. We distribute food items to ensure no family goes hungry, provide free meals during the event to foster a sense of community, and offer skill acquisition programs to empower widows with the tools they need to become self-reliant. In Widow’s Mite 4.0, we expanded our efforts by introducing free health insurance for both widows and orphans, a crucial step in safeguarding their well-being and securing their future.

Widow’s Mite 5.0: Expanding Our Mission and Impact
As we prepare for Widow’s Mite 5.0, we are committed to making this event our most impactful yet. This edition will continue our ongoing support initiatives while also introducing new elements designed to further empower and uplift the families we serve. We are thrilled to announce that Vicki Yohe, an internationally renowned gospel artiste, will be joining us to perform and share words of inspiration and hope. Her presence will bring a powerful message of faith and resilience to the widows and orphans who attend.

In addition, we are honored to welcome the Ambassador of the African Union as a guest speaker. Their participation underscores the importance of our mission and the collective responsibility we all share in supporting the families of those who have sacrificed so much for our safety.

Our Achievements: A Legacy of Compassion and Impact
Over the years, the Kedrick Scribner Foundation has made significant strides in fulfilling our mission. Our achievements through the Widow’s Mite initiative are a testament to what can be accomplished when a community comes together to serve with love and dedication.

  • Provision of Essential Resources: We have distributed thousands of food items to widows and orphans, ensuring that these families have access to basic necessities. This support has been crucial in alleviating the immediate burden of hunger and allowing families to focus on rebuilding their lives.
  • Skill Acquisition and Empowerment: Through our skill acquisition programs, we have trained countless widows in various trades and crafts, enabling them to generate income and provide for their families. These programs are more than just training sessions—they are lifelines that offer hope and a path to self-sufficiency.
  • Health Insurance for Families: The introduction of free health insurance in Widow’s Mite 4.0 marked a significant milestone in our efforts to provide comprehensive support. By covering medical costs, we have removed a significant financial burden from these families, ensuring they have access to the healthcare they need without fear of overwhelming expenses.
  • Community Building and Spiritual Support: Our events have also served as important gatherings for community building and spiritual nourishment. Our Outreach

Kedrick Scribner Foundation Outreach Program: Nourishing Lives, Empowering Futures

At the Kedrick Scribner Foundation, our Outreach Program is a cornerstone of our commitment to uplifting and supporting the widows and orphans of fallen heroes. We understand that these families often face overwhelming challenges, and our outreach efforts are designed to provide immediate relief, long-term empowerment, and a sense of hope for the future.

Providing Essential Food Supplies
One of the critical components of our Outreach Program is ensuring that no widow or orphan in our community goes hungry. During our outreach events, we distribute essential food items to the families we serve, helping to alleviate the daily burden of food insecurity. These supplies include staple foods and nutritious items that support the health and well-being of the recipients. Our goal is not just to meet immediate needs but also to offer a lifeline to those struggling to make ends meet.

Serving Freshly Prepared Meals
In addition to distributing food supplies, we also believe in the importance of fostering a sense of community and belonging. On the day of our outreach events, we provide freshly prepared meals to all participants. These meals are not just about nourishment; they are about bringing people together, offering comfort, and reminding these families that they are not alone. Sharing a meal in a supportive environment helps to build connections and provides a moment of respite in their otherwise challenging lives.

Empowering Through Skills Training
Beyond meeting immediate needs, our Outreach Program is deeply committed to empowering widows and orphans with the skills they need to achieve long-term independence and stability. We offer training in essential areas such as basic computer skills and tailoring, equipping participants with practical abilities that can lead to employment or entrepreneurship. Our focus on skills development is a crucial aspect of our outreach efforts, as it provides a pathway to self-reliance and financial security.

Supporting Excellence and Providing Resources
We recognize that education and training are only the first steps on the road to success. To ensure that our participants can immediately apply their new skills, we provide outstanding graduates with valuable resources—brand new laptop computers for those who excel in our computer training program and sewing machines along with several yards of fabric for those who shine in our tailoring program. These tools are essential for helping them turn their training into tangible opportunities for income generation and personal growth.

A Holistic Approach to Support
Our Outreach Program is designed to address both the immediate and long-term needs of widows and orphans. By providing food and meals, we offer relief from the day-to-day struggles they face. By offering skills training and the necessary equipment, we empower them to build a better future. This holistic approach ensures that we are not just meeting needs temporarily but are also creating sustainable solutions that can transform lives.

The Kedrick Scribner Foundation’s Outreach Program is more than just an act of charity; it is a mission of love, compassion, and empowerment. We are dedicated to making a lasting impact in the lives of those we serve, providing them with the resources, skills, and support they need to thrive.

By providing brand new equipment to our outstanding graduates—whether it’s a sewing machine for a future fashion designer or a laptop for an aspiring tech professional—we ensure that they have the practical tools they need to succeed. This investment in their potential not only empowers individuals but also strengthens entire communities by fostering self-reliance and economic growth.

A Pathway to a Brighter Future

Free health Insurance

Kedrick Scribner Foundation Free Health Insurance Program: Protecting the Health of Widows and Orphans

At the Kedrick Scribner Foundation, we understand that access to quality healthcare is essential for maintaining the well-being and dignity of individuals, especially those who are vulnerable. Our Free Health Insurance Program is a critical initiative designed to provide comprehensive healthcare coverage to both widows and orphans, ensuring that they can access necessary medical services without the burden of financial strain. This program is a testament to our commitment to caring for those who have lost their loved ones in the line of duty, offering them the security and peace of mind that comes from knowing their health needs are covered.

A Lifeline for Widows and Orphans
For many widows and orphans, the loss of a spouse or parent often brings profound emotional, financial, and health challenges. Without adequate healthcare, even minor health issues can become significant burdens, leading to a downward spiral of worsening conditions and escalating costs. Our Free Health Insurance Program serves as a lifeline, providing these families with the essential medical care they need to navigate through difficult times. Whether it’s routine check-ups, preventive care, or emergency services, our program ensures that no widow or orphan is left to face health challenges alone.

Comprehensive and Inclusive Coverage
The Free Health Insurance Program offers extensive coverage tailored to meet the diverse needs of widows and orphans. This includes access to routine medical services, specialist consultations, emergency care, diagnostic tests, and essential medications. By covering a wide range of health services, the program helps prevent minor health issues from developing into serious conditions, ensuring that beneficiaries can maintain their health and well-being. This inclusive coverage is particularly important for orphans, who may require specialized pediatric care and for widows who often prioritize the health of their children over their own.

Supporting Long-Term Health and Stability
Good health is the foundation of a stable and fulfilling life. By providing free health insurance to widows and orphans, we are not only addressing their immediate medical needs but also promoting their long-term health and stability. Regular access to healthcare allows individuals to remain active, engaged, and capable of pursuing education, employment, and other opportunities for personal growth. For orphans, having health insurance means they can receive the care they need to thrive physically and emotionally, helping them to overcome the challenges they face and build brighter futures.

A Commitment to Compassionate and Holistic Care
Our Free Health Insurance Program is rooted in the Kedrick Scribner Foundation’s commitment to compassionate, holistic care. We recognize that widows and orphans have endured profound loss and hardship, and we are dedicated to providing them with the support they need to heal and move forward. By ensuring access to healthcare, we affirm their right to a healthy, dignified life and show them that they are not alone in their journey. This program reflects our belief that every person deserves the chance to lead a healthy life, free from the fear of medical bills or lack of care.

Empowering Families and Communities
The impact of our Free Health Insurance Program extends beyond individual health. By safeguarding the health of widows and orphans, we also strengthen the broader community. Healthy individuals are better equipped to contribute to their families, pursue education and employment, and engage in community activities. For orphans, this program provides a foundation for success, helping them to overcome adversity and build a brighter future. In supporting their health, we are investing in the future of entire communities, breaking the cycle of poverty and fostering long-term social and economic development.

The Kedrick Scribner Foundation’s Free Health Insurance Program is more than just a healthcare initiative—it is a vital part of our mission to uplift and empower those who need it most. Through this program, we are dedicated to ensuring that every widow and orphan we serve has access to the healthcare they deserve, enabling them to lead healthy, fulfilling lives and create a positive impact in their communities.
