ABOUT US

Kedrick Scribner Foundation (KSF) is an international charity organization, a non-governmental and non-profit, with focus on uplifting underprivileged persons in society. The organization was founded in 2020 and registered in 2022, with the Maryland Business Exchange, United States, registration number: D23450422, also registered in 2023, with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Nigeria, registration number: IT-6996001.

The foundation was founded on the basis of love and compassion for humanity. The founder, Dr. Kedrick Scribner, a native of America, veteran and a minister of the gospel picked special interest in supporting families of the fallen heroes of the Nigeria Police Force, when he attended a training at Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria, in 2022. During the training, Dr. Kedrick Scribner encountered a captivating moment, where he saw some group of women, desperately in need. Moved by compassion, he made some inquiries about the women, where he was told that they were widows of the fallen heroes of the Nigeria Police Force. He then went on to visit some of the widows in their houses, there, he learnt more about their stories, their survival and the daily struggles they encountered with their families after the death of their husbands/fathers. Since then, he promised to make it a point of duty to be in their lives and support them.

Dr. Kedrick Scribner came up with an initiative he called, the “Widows Mite”, this initiative is organized twice a year in Nigeria, bringing together widows from different barracks within the Lagos metropolis. Several activities are held, during which the widows are well catered for with food, drinks, gifts and other essential services.

So far, the foundation has successfully organized the Widows’ Mite 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 respectively. The next event, Widows Mite 5.0, is scheduled for January 18th and 19th, 2025.

In addition to making a sustainable livelihood for the widows and their families, in June 2023, Dr. Kedrick Scribner started the construction of the free Vocational Center within the premises of HEKAN church, Mounted Troops Barracks, Ikeja, Lagos, where widows and their children were trained in ICT and Sewing. The center was formerly opened in January 2024 by Dr. Kedrick Scribner and his family, and other members of the Kedrick Scribner Foundation  team. So far, more than 70 people have benefited from the vocational center by acquiring the necessary skills that they need to sustain and develop themselves. Currently, there are more than 50 people benefiting from the ongoing training classes.

As part of their effort, the foundation has successfully collaborated with partner organizations, donors and individuals, who in numerous ways have supported the widows and their families. The widows, through goodwill donations have so far received countless supports from our foundation, such as, empowerment, medical support, education and so on.

Although these needs are enormous, Kedrick Scribner Foundation is out to ensure that the needs of these vulnerable individuals are met to the best of our abilities.

At Kedrick Scribner Foundation, our goal is to ensure that families who feel neglected and unloved will once again feel catered for and loved by the support we offer them.
